| Trade liberalization will accelarate the liberalization of investment and foreign investment. Though most countries have foreign investment policies and laws to attract and encourage foreign investment, there are always certain restrictions on foreign investment, which constitute barriers to trade liberalization. WTO has specific prohibition on certain investment measures which affect trade liberalization, for example, according to national treatment, it is prohibited to have domestic purchase requirement for foreign invested companies, also, according to the prohibition on quantitative restrictions, it is not allowed to restrict the foreign invested companies from importing materials or export. The foreign trade laws of the memebers are required to be in conformity with the WTO rules.
