| In order to ensure the quality of products, protection of human, animal or plant life or health, protection of environment or provention of deceptive practices, countries have delevoped relevant technical regulations and standards. However, the lack of uniformed regulations and standard between countries or the unjustified or discriminary application of the measures could constitute technical barriers on trade. WTO has reached an agreement on TBT. As early as in the 1990’s, partners of AllBright has introduced to China the technical standards of EU and has worked as counsel to the China National Commodity Inspection Bureau on technical standards. AllBright has been involved in the EU TBT cases on imports of lighters, toys and textiles from China. Taking advantage of its cooperation with overseas law firms, AllBright has followed closely the development of international trade barriers and can offer advise to clients and provide solutions.
