| rules of origin is the basis for classifying the origin of the products. Trade policies and measures are generally applied on the basis of the origin of the goods, and import/export quotas, antidumping measures, countervailing measures, safeguard measures, circumvention measures and preferencial treatment within FTA etc are such examples. WTO has some uniformed rules on rules of origins, but WTO members maintain certain flexibilities. There are GSP rules of origins and rules of origins on specific products as well.
